DESCRIPTION

Cittadella Nuova, today called Giardino Scotto, is an ancient fortress, the building of which began in 1440 during the first Florentine domination. It was dismantled in 1785 and a noble palace was built in its place, property of Domenico Scotto, who made the rear portion of the fortress into a private garden.
